How to stop the "audio sent to Google" nag screen while still using Google Voice

Hi!,

I honestly don't care if my audio is sent to Google. What I don't like is the black nag screen that comes up and blocks my microphone every single time I use it telling me that my audio is being sent to Google.

I have an Android note 9 and it seems to occur on my Chrome browser app when I use voice to text. It doesn't seem to pop up in other situations.

I've got notifications turned off for my Google app which someone suggested to do yet the nag screen is still there all the time. There's got to be a way to get rid of that.

It only started happening within the last month so I'm assuming it's due to an update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Nancy

The only thing I can think of would be if this were caused by a permission. It doesn't seem like a notification, exactly. It seems more like a warning that you'd get the first time or if you chose "Only this time".

You say it seems to only be happening in Chrome. Which microphone are you using? The one attached to your keyboard, the one in the search/address bar or one somewhere else?

What keyboard are you using, even if you're not using the one attached to your keyboard?

Since whatever is happening seems like it is ignoring your previous permission to capture this audio and it seems to be mostly or only in Chrome, I would open Settings>Applications>use the three dots upper right to select Permission Manager, then look under microphone for Chrome and remove permission for it to use your microphone. The next time it needs to use it Chrome will ask and you can select to allow it again.

If you don't find Chrome in the list, it's not in mine but I use GBoard keyboard and the mic feature it offers, take microphone privileges away from everything. Just like I mentioned before whenever any app needs to use your mic it will request it and you can allow it then just like it was the first time. Also while you're in this area of your phone I would go back a couple of pages until you are on the page listing all of your apps. Scroll down to Chrome and clear the app cache and app data for Chrome. This shouldn't have much of an effect on your chrome experience as all of your important stuff, bookmarks, passwords and browser history are stored in the cloud and not the app.

Let us know what the outcome was and if I may, I'd like to recommend GBoard keyboard. Unless you're really in love with something else it has a very nice UI and can be customized. Plus I've never had any Tom Foolery using the mic it offers.
