How to store a file

Hi all:
I would like to store files where I would like them to go, not where the app decides it would like to put them.
Is there any way to tell certain apps (like Polaris Office, the Camera, offline map storage just to name a few) where to put files ?

I know that rogue files and long unused files clutter things up and use up space, and it would be great to know where these files are instead of hunting them down in folders with unlikely names

I don't think you can tell them where unless the Apps themselves support changing the default storage location.
You can however move them once they're stored with a File Explorer type App such as Astro.
