How to tell when HDR is enabled?

Hello,

I was taking pictures with my baby and I realized that the HDR mode does not show a tick when you enable it. Thus I am left in confusion because I never know if my pics have HDR. Am I missing something? Thanks.

According to this page Adjust Camera settings - Nexus Help

High Dynamic Range - Puts the camera in HDR mode, which captures greater detail in bright or dark areas of a photo. In HDR mode, Camera disables the flash and white balance options.

So, not the best, but it does work; if the flash and white balance options are greyed out, then HDR is enabled.

It says HDR in the circle in the bottom right.

Correct, that circle will have the flash status (off/on/auto) if HDR is disabled. Once HDR is enabled it'll explicitly say "HDR" on the circle.
