How to toggle on led light using volume buttons

I was in the camera app the other day and somehow had use of the volume buttons to toggle the led light on and off. I thought to myself how cool. Now when I try to duplicate, I can't figure it out and it's not an option in camera settings. It will work with the HTC flashlight app though. Any thoughts on how I stumbled upon it while in the camera. Thanks

Wait...What flashlight app? There was not one stock that I had on mine..(Sprint)

Wasn't stock, I got it from someone here. It is a stock HTC flashlight app though with three levels of brightness. It's on xda as well, let me see if I can find it for you.
