How to turn of notification popup for text messages

Whenever I get a text message a screen comes down displaying the text message. How can I turn this off? I use messages.

Try long press message app , tap info then go notification tap >go to incoming notification tap turn off pop up on screen toggle

What about turning off the Pop On Screen toggle for Other Notifications as well?

Maybe you should try resetting the app, but to do that long press it again and tap info then storage, and clear its data and cache then force stop it.
