the circle slash icon i want to know how to take it off the screen it said something that it was in silent mode

If it's a speaker icon with a line across it then it is Silent Mode (or Mute). Just go to your Sound settings and set it back to Sound or Vibrate (or if available on your device, from the notification bar's quick settings, on the Sound icon).

But it sounds like what you have activated is the Do Not Disturb mode. This can also be disabled from your settings or the quick settings area if available, but it varies by phone. It is usually found in the Sound and Vibration settings, though.
