I installed Runtastic on my G2 .... Now Gear Manager seems to think that it's installed. When I goto Samsung Gear Apps and click on Runtastic it says View app in Gear Manager .. IE- it thinks I already have it installed. Does anyone know how to force uninstall it? Unless I can get Gear Manger to realize it is not actually on my S I will not be able to install it.

Samsung Gear Manager
Setting
Uninstall Application

Er yes... re my post the app in question does not show up in the list for applications to uninstall... Thus my post.

I have the same problem. I was able to uninstall one app that was also on my phone. that enabled me to install it on my gear s. other apps are listed in my purchased apps in the gear app on my phone as installed, but they are not. I can't uninstall them, so they're no good to me. Can't figure out how to do it.

My bad misread. Did you try to readd?

Mictulsa, I've tried that but the apps that show installed are not listed under "Uninstaller applications in gear manager.

The only other thing I would suggest is check your applications on your phone device to see if it's set up there instead of Gear Manager.

Aitt, I tried that too. Only found one installed on my phone. I deleted that one, then reinstalled. That one did make it over to my gear s. Wonder if they still think they're installed on the gear 2 that I no longer have.

Try clearing your partition in recovery. That's the last thing I could think of. Sorry I'm not much help in your issue

Ok - I figured it out for most apps. Check your APP manger on your phone. Most likely you will find a companion app or the main app installed on your phone - uninstall both and you should be good. I did this with Strava and it allowed me to re-install it. Problem I have now is with Opera - I can not figure out what name it installed under on my Note. Will post separate thread -

I have this problem as well. did you find a solution?
Gear S Watch crashed and had to be reset. Opera had been installed on it and working fine. After crash some remnant of Opera must have remained on the phone because I can't re-install it, nor can I uninstall it. It does not appear in any of teh files that I can see on the phone or watch. Has to be a hidden file or switch that is fooling the phone and/or watch into thinking it is still there.

Does not appear in any app management list on either device.

No response received from Opera forum as to how to do a full uninstall and re-install.

What phone are you using? All of my issues were fixed when I moved to my Note 4 from Note 3. On Note 3, even though it said it had downloaded new gear manager and app store it was using an older version. Moment that I switched over to my Note 4 the gear manager app and store worked. All apps that I have installed show as installed and can be uninstalled via gear manager.

Regarding Opera - I was never able to find Opera as installed on my phone (note 3 or Note 4) but under Note 4's gear manager I see Opera as installed and can uninstall if want.

I was having this problem too with a few of my apps after I downgraded my s5 from Lollipop. I solved it by going into the Application Manager in the phone and uninstalled all the various Gear app components (there's quite a few, maybe 6 or 7). Reinstalled Gear Manager and all the apps were able to be installed again

I had the same problem with "Endomondo Gear 2." I went into my phone's Settings, General, Application Manager, and found "Endomondo Gear 2" there (my phone's sister app, "Endomondo" was also there but I left it alone). I clicked on "Endomondo Gear 2," then FORCE STOP, then UNINSTALL. Went back to Samsung Gear app on my phone, then Samsung Gear Apps, searched for and found Endomondo in the Samsung Gear Apps store, found it and it showed as not installed, this allowed me to install it and then it showed up on my Gear 2. I did not have to first remove the Endomondo sister phone app by the way.

You have to delete the app in the galaxy phone. Maybe the app will not be found in the regular apps items. For this go to phone settings, then memory, then app manager, the search for the gear s app that is hidden and delete it. Aftet that, install the app again from the samsung gear store.

I had to reset the Gear and NOT do the restore function when setting it back up. Then I was able to reinstall the app. Hope that helps!

Wow saw this thread and it took me so long to solve my problem with the gear apps....

After a gear app update nothing worked on my gear 2 with Note 4 .
Every time connection lost and no reconnect to my phone with bluetooth...

I could get it to work after I uninstalled google playstore gear app and reinstalled it via samsung galaxy apps appstore.

Then the next problem occured because the gear 2 was resetted after new connection with gear app.
The problem with the application gear manager and the installed gear app versions.
I was not able to reinstall the gear apps via the gearmanager.

I have to go to application manager on my note 4 via the android settings in android 6.01.
There I uninstalled all gear apps I could find.

Then reinstalled gear app via galaxy appstore and reset of gear 2 device.
After that gear app asks for restore backup and unchecked that (NO BACKUP RESTORE).
After that I was able to install the gear apps via gear application manager under purchased applications.

Hope that helps anybody who ran into the same problems....
