Android Central Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a J6 and currently it has an error on the left top most of the screen.

"Could not do normal boot. Invalid Kernel Length."

tried using ODIN. however the (write) error keeps popping up and I always get "FAIL"
I'm assuming that it is because the "OEM lock is on"

tried to search on how I can unlock it to no avail. :-(

Please help on what I can do..

is it better to focus on unlocking the OEM.
or is it better to find a program that can hard reset it? (Since nothing is working in the guides since it wont boot)

Thank you.. I really wouldnt like to buy a new phone right now. since I just bought this a year ago.. thank you.

Thank you for answering. really appreciate it.

I see. so it is ok for the OEM to be locked.
unfortunately I am having an error in Odin. which it says Complete(write) operation failed.

I am currently using Odin3_v3.14.4
and I got my firmware from sammobile
this is what i got - SM-J600G_2_20210313190255_ytsw4q64au_fac
I got the current one (android 10) for SM - J600G - XTC
and I also created a pit using pitmagic (using the above firmware)

Hi, welcome to AC!

Don't use PIT..

Download frija from xda forums, then once downloaded put your model number and region .
Extract the firmware then put the the 4 firmware files into corresponding slots in Odin CSC slot use home CSC so you don't factory reset .

The firmware you downloaded from sammobile might not be same bootloader you have the phone , that's why with frija it gives the latest thats available.

I've tried your suggestion.
got Frija from XDA and downloaded the software there..
Also did not put in the PIT file.
I dont know why ODIN is failing it and saying there is no pit partition.
are there anymore that I can do? thanks

Try different cable or usb port in computer

I tried 3 different cables and all of my usb ports.
but its still the same.
though the reason is usually this <ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed. or COM port error.

I didn't change any. I Just followed what you have given me

got the file from Frija, and input each on ODIN.
no pitfile used.
Just used HOME CSC and then changed ports and cables.

but it's still failing. unfortunately. But still hoping that it can be fixed :-)

You are using the 4 extract firmware in Odin corresponding slots correct?
