How to unlock One M9 that is not activated (AT&T)

Re: delete this thread.

I have an HTC One that went off AT&T service and contract six months ago. It's all paid off and has been sitting unused for a while. I've been procrastinating selling it and now I want to unlock it.

How do I unlock the phone that has been out of service for so long. I tried the ATT&T website but it's a no go since I'm no longer a customer of theirs.

Thanks in advance.
Contact AT&T customer support and ask them for the unlock code. Although you are no longer a customer, if you purchased the device through them they should still be able to assist you. There are other companies that will provide you with the service (paid), but prices vary and you need to be careful with which ones you choose. If you go that route do some investigative work to make sure you are using a reputable service.
