Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, SGH-T889. Android Version 4.1.2

I rooted it but later I found out I could not upgrade the android 4.1.2

How can I upgrade to the new OS? If not, I heard I had to unroot.
If so, how can I unroot and then apply the software upgrade and then root again? Is this the best way?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
No matter what, when you root, you lose the ability to accept OTA Updates. Your solution is a good one. Taking the long way to do it, but you can.
May I ask why you rooted?
