How to unroot then reroot?

I am needing to unroot so I can get my phone to be compliant with my work email/mobile iron.

Is it possible to root, then unroot but retain a couple file changes? Or does re-rooting cause a wipe of the file system? I am running a nexus 6 unencrypted.

You should post this in the Nexus 6 forum, but yeah, typically you lose your files when you do that.
