The official ICS update for HTC EVO 4G is a far cry. Do not worry about that. If you can twak your device you can easily UPDATE with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Wait, I'll lose wimax? Isn't that 4G?? Nah screw that then haha besides I own a Toshiba thrive tablet that has ICS. I don't care much for ICS at the moment actually. I'm having a hard time not having a search button lol I use it quite a lot!

To everyone: The original post in this thread doesn't mention that ICS on the EVO is STILL an alpha/beta development platform! Not only are the download links broken in the article (the 'old' version is now 3 days old), these things change daily (see previous comment lol, camera and maybe gallery is "fixed" now (maybe)), the ROMS will not be optimized yet so battery strength will/may be worse than you are used to, and there ARE more problems than just those listed. Not wanting to run anyone away, but these are still for testing.

For those of you who just want to install ICS on your Evo and go on with your life, don't expect to use these for the next year as you will most likely be very disappointed when you find things work poorly or don't work at all... I would recommend waiting for a few more months until more bugs are worked out. If you are a ROM tester, you already have known about ICS on Evo for months now, so carry on.

Is there an actual ICS ROM for SOS? There's a 1.9.0.9 and a 2.0.9 SOS ROM that has an ICS THEME to it, but it's still running on gingerbread. (not that it matters for 95% of the world, lol)

FYI: SOS is a good ROM, I've always liked the tweaks.

I.actually downloaded ice cream swag last thursday it's okay but I was kind going for ics dock. Not a big fan of the stock kernel either. any one know of a sense 3.0 rom with working 4g our a ics rom with working 4g and more battery life

4G will probably be one of the last things to get working with any ICS ROM on the Evo. It's just not enough of a priority versus getting things like email, camera, data, GPS, video, market, internet, etc working. Google for Deck's ICS rom, it's probably one of the best Evo ICS roms out there right now, and it's updated almost daily with bug fixes. Still some bugs, but it's getting closer.
