Hi guys, just bought a new LG G4 phone through Verizon. Came with v5.1 and I hear there is a new update 5.1.1? I'm sort of new to the android OS world and I have some basic questions.
1. I've already checked for software updates through the phone and it says there are no available updates. Does this mean that Verizon has not made 5.1.1 available to the public?
I'm aware that Google makes Android OS. However, some of the threads I've read here leads me to believe that the release of the update is (more or less) controlled by the carrier - in my case Verizon. Have i misunderstood this? Just how do the updates work exactly?
2. I'm not sure what the differences are between the 2 (5.1 vs 5.1.1) but if the updates are significant, I'd like to get it. Does anyone know what the differences are?
