You can do this, but be aware that it cause issues with texting. Apple’s iMessage does not play fair when switching SIM cards. You will start to have people say that they sent you a text, but when you check it is not there. You can turn off iMessage and turn on SMS on your iPhone, but I have still never gotten it to work correctly.
What I do is forward my main number to my Pixel 5 number ( yes for $20 a month I got an additional line with my family plan), so the phone calls work great. Then I use my Apple Watch, which is using my Pixel 5 hot spot for data, to get my texts.
In today’s world it seems texting is the number 1 vehicle to communicate on a mobile phone.
