How would I know which Almoled mode to use for the Samsung Galaxy S9+

I want to know which amoled mode is best to use for the SAMSUNG GALAXY S9 PLUS

There is no "best", there are only choices.

Higher resolution uses more battery. Lower resolution uses less battery.

The choice is yours.

Do you mean the screen modes? Like AMOLED cinema and AMOLED photo? Just choose the one that looks best to you.

I'll echo sentiment that it's all preference. But, according to certain metrics, when set to Basic mode Samsung's displays are the most color accurate on the market. But again, all preference.
