How would I record an incoming line with the p20?

I was wanting to record an incoming audio device. I found an app called Open Camera and that has a external mic option. But how do I record the audio coming in? What device do I need?

I have tried this device linked below but doesn't work. It is a Sabrent USB Type-C External Stereo Sound Adapter for Windows and Mac. Plug and Play No Drivers Needed. (AU-MMSC).

Says it works for Android but really doesn't from trying to record from an incoming like like a sound board.
