New android user here! Former Web OS, possibly former WP7....
Just picked up a brandy neew Acer Iconia A100 7"tablet. Hoping to have a nice portable device to complete my computing platforms. Yep, heard all sorts of things about Android bugginess, fragmentation and battery drains - but also have suffered through Palm's lack of hardware support, the demise of Web OS and was very disappointed by WP7's lack of compatability with its parent (Microsoft) office products aswell as frustrated with Skydrive, bluetooth file transfer limitations, inability of WP7 phones to offer simple things that feature phones have done for years, poor calendar implementation and a host of other "nagging issues" that just seem left off of the OS. Sure its pretty, smooth and has been solid - but really now - customizable alert tones and the ability to separate volume controls is not av available on WP7? And WHY NOT? After waiting and wondering and making suggestions, I've been prowling Android sites and the Iconia A100 is my entry device!
I like the 7"size, tablet format, and am hoping it will prove to be just what I need for computing on the fly. Picked it up through a price match from Best Buy to Walmart's 198.99 price, so it didn't break my bank for a test device. and I can always take it back or even sell it for the same price - right?
But, here I am, and here I go - rolling into the android realm... intruder alert! intruder alert!
