How's Hand-offs between LTE and 3G

How smooth are handoffs going to/from LTE to 3G and vice verse...

Its it a hard hand-off that you will notice in the middle of a data session like Wimax to 3G or is a nice smooth no interruption type hand-off.

Its it a hard hand-off that you will notice in the middle of a data session like Wimax to 3G or is a nice smooth no interruption type hand-off.

It's completely seamless. They put you on a special king of 3g called eHRPD which locks in an IP address, and preserves it when you switch towers or 3G to LTE.

(The Wimax to 3g handoff doesn't work because it's Clearwire-to-Sprint. I don't think it's an inherent problem with Wimax technology.)
