How's the screen holding out?

I have had my Z Flip4 since Sep 2022. My screen seems to be doing just fine -- no breaks, no apparent scratches or pixel losses. I do have the screen protector coming loose from the screen along the crease. Not a hyge deal -- the screen still responds to touch along the crease about 90% of the time.

I am waiting to see what sort of deal offers are announced for trading to a Flip5. If offers are really attractive, then I will trade as is. If they turn out to be sort of "meh", I can get a new screen protector replacement.

But, to answer your question, the folding screen itself seems to be no problem.

I've had my Flip 4 since its debut last August. Just recently it developed a separation with the screen protector and the crease. It was small. Only about 3/8 inches long and didn't affect usage at all. And you could only see it if the image on the screen was kind of plain such as a blank screen or a very light color. Yesterday I took it in to a Samsung authorized repair place and they fixed it under warranty. No charge. Looks as good as new.

However a word of warning to others who develop this issue. The technician told me that if a separation develops you shouldn't wait (even if it functions okay) and get it replaced. He told me that as it gets worse you could have damage to the actual screen underneath and that is a much harder and more expensive repair.

Yep the area that is starting to peel up will actually start to harden from exposure to air, then it'll crack, and the sharp harder edges will start to chew the screen up.

If you can't fix it pretty quickly, it's better to peel the screen protector off vs leaving it on until it starts cracking. From all the research I've done it doesn't seem that much (if any) harder to replace the Flip protector than a normal slab phone film protector.

I purchased mine Oct 2022. It had been perfect until this past week. I dropped it and got a crack at the hinge, and then dropped it again before I could get that fixed and the hinge was damaged beyond repair. I would definitely purchase another.

I've been thinking about getting a Flip for some time. But my hesitation has been the folded area on the screen whether the pixels go bad, a darker or lighter line across the middle, or something else. The only way to know if from those that had one for a while. I'm glad I found this site and thread.

The screens don't seem to be a problem... it's just the screen protector that eventually starts coming off from all the folding and unfolding.

But it's just a screen protector that needs replacing like on any other phone (just sooner lol), so no big deal to replace 😉

Thanks for the info. The screen protector got a scratch on it from one of our cats on my 10e a while back. I never put one back on it since I'm careful with my phone. It's never in a pocket with a key or anything else. Shouldn't be an issue with a Flip.

I only had my phone since January of this year. A few weeks ago the screen protector started getting weird at the fold (like bubbles). I took it off and replaced it with a screen protector I bought on Amazon. We don't have a samsung store nearby and I really didn't want to send it back to them just to replace a screen protector.
