HOX Battery Life Issues

Morning everyone,

I'm relatively new to the HTC scene, having bought my HTC One X about two weeks ago. I'm in Canada on the Telus network. I heard GREAT things about the HOX battery life, but I have yet to see it.

Ex: took it off the charger at 7:20 this morning and by 8:50 it was already at 84%. Today wasn't that bad, but previously, it's been dead by about noon. I have been checking out some forums, have disabled apps, modified power consumption settings, screen shut off is 15 seconds ... but I am an HTC noob. Could you guys give me some pointers I may have missed? I run Nova Launcher on my HOX, if that's any matter. I don't have live backgrounds, nothing... just a little disappointed in the battery life I've experienced over the hype that I've seen on this forum/elsewhere.

This is my first post, sorry if something didn't work out : / I attached a picture of my battery consumption - screen is a HUGE power sucker. Is this normal? I have my brightness settings adjusted to auto - I know I could reduce it all the way, but then why would I have bought an HOX if I can't admire the screen???

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Depending on your screen on time, your battery percent could seem normal. So what is your screen on time? Not often do you see people talk about poor battery life when actually using the phone with the HOX. It's when the screen is locked and you're not using it and you see a drain should you really be concerned.

Make sure that you have screen brightness set to auto. That seems to save quite a bit of battery for me.

Also, make sure you have run the phone down to auto shut off (keep using it right through the warnings till it shuts off) then charge over night. You only have to do this once.

That calibrates the charger controller letting it know how far your battery can actually go.

I actually don't use a short off time like 15 seconds. Too annoying.

Don't worry about battery drain soon after removing from the charger. That can be deceiving. Reserve your judgment till you have about 25 percent left, and then look at runtime. It's not perfectly linear.

Oh, and why run Nova? It's just more work for the phone. It's not like Sense is totally gone, it's still running, just suppressed.
