HOX not booting into recovery mode?

for some wierd reason, i cant boot into recovery mode :/

rooted and bootlocked and installed the cm recovery.

i hold down the volume down button and power on, the capacitive touch buttons all blink and then its jsut black screen into a normal boot.

any ideas? how long am i supposed to hold the power and volume button?

You are supposed to hold the power and down volume button until the bootloader screen appears.

In the setting menu under power unchecked fastboot, then turn off phone and try again.

I also just did the upper part and having no luck held for min and when I finally let go it just booted up to normal..

Any ideas trying to put in TWRP
