HQ Landscape video in Portrait

Hey fellas,

Is there any way to shoot full landscape video while holding the phone in portrait mode? Was just up taking some photos on the side of a hill today thinking it would be much easier to hold the phone a la flipcam for a more steady shot in video.

the camera itself is physically oriented to take pictures/videos in its default resolution and orientation.

you can take videos while holding the phone in portrait mode, and then rotate the videos later. however, aspect ratio, instead of being 4x3, would be 3x4 because the hardware is oriented to record holding the phone a certain way. you could crop the video but that would reduce resolution.
