I have a coworker interested in the HTC 10 and she is currently with ATT. They told her they don't sell HTC phones anymore but if she wanted the 10 she could buy it unlocked and put it on their network. I would like to know if this is possible. I'd like to save her any heart ache and dollars if possible.

Thanks for the answers guys/gals.

It will work, for sure! As an example, my Honor 8 was bought online, unlocked, and is working with Rogers. :)

Yes, I have had the unlocked versions of the HTC 8, 9 & 10 and no problems. ATT never sold the 10.

Thanks guys and gals, yall are awesome!!!!!! She is now trying to narrow it down to either the 10 or the Ultra.

I've had the 7 - 8 - 9 & 10 I've loved them all even tho the 9 got a bad rep. All unlocked from HTC except for the 7 got the 64gb from att. But I have to say that I have no interest in the ultra at all. I hope this helps your friend.

Let's just hope she never has to deal with their customer support. I have to wait 2-4 weeks just to get my UH-OH replacement. Good thing I have a back up phone.

It will work on ATT just fine. Also it's one of the only unlocked phones that can use ATT VOLTE.

I'm running an unlocked HTC 10 on AT&T's no-contract GoPhone service. I bought mine direct from htc.com for $499, but the current sale price is $549. Offsetting the expense of the unlocked phone, my GoPhone plan costs me $40/month.

That's strange, i only waited 3 days for my uh oh replacement. I was amazed at how fast the service worked.

I think I am going to recommend the 10 for her, I want to go with the Ultra but she has small hands.

She can't go wrong with the 10. It's not loaded with gimmicks it's just a solid well built phone with one of the best cameras, good screen, great sound especially through the headphone jack, fast. It's what a smartphone should be.

Just a quick update. She has decided to go with the LG G6. She found out "HTC is moving away from premium phones".

This is simply not true. They are dropping low and mid range devices and concentrating on upper mid range and premium devices.
