HTC 10 Audio stuttering problem

I've had my HTC 10 for about 3 weeks now, and so far it's been amazing, perfect upgrade to my old M8 that was running at a very sub par level due to, well, age and a lot of instances of it being dropped.
But yesterday whilst listening to audio on spotify through the supplied HTC headphones, it started to stutter and drop out a lot of seemingly no reason.
Thinking it could have been an issue with the headphones, I switched to my bluetooth speaker only for the same result. And after testing it with yet another bluetooth speaker at home i've found the same issue.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what could be causing this? It's definitely not an internet problem as I had the stuttering whether I was streaming or listening to downloaded content.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I had a stuttering/skipping problem on Poweramp, I adjusted the buffer size and thread priority in settings slightly and it seemed to get rid of the problem. Not sure if Spotify's settings has the same options, since I haven't used it too much on this phone (yet).

it's not a streaming problem, as i said i have the same issue with already downloaded music, and also on the wifi at home where streaming should never be an issue.
and it's not an every now and then thing either, it's constant. it doesn't stop no matter what i'm playing, whether it be spotify, soundcloud of even the music from pokemon go.

Have you tried clearing the cache from Spotify?

if it's stuttering for all the things you say it is...you might just want to get a replacement

I've had this too just very recently, not since day one (have had my 10 for maybe 6 weeks, this is the first problem, for the past few days). I listen over Bluetooth, but reckon that's a red herring. I *think* that I've narrowed it down to three possible apps, Boost, My Vodafone and Bing Search. These apps had access to my storage amongst other things, if I force-stop all three then the stuttering seemed to stop. Not sure if they were trying to read or write to the card when music was also being played - I have my storage formatted as adobtable, not sure how all of this fits together, possibly an app received a bad update and is excessively using storage. Or maybe I'm talking crap and it's some other issue, but it didn't happen before. Annoying!! I haven't had chance to test any further over the past few days.

So I tried again today and the issue has magically fixed itself for seemingly no reason?
Not sure what's going on, will try some of these tips if it happens again, thanks for all the help everyone.
