Curious what everyone thinks. It's not all that hard to find — it's in the build.prop. For whatever reason HTC doesn't want to show it.

How do we feel about that?

Personally -- I would rather them show it. Nexus, Samsung, etc. etc. all show the date right under about phone. To me I would take this as HTC may know they cannot keep it fully up to date so they're trying to hide this (easily) from the eye of their customer? I could be wrong .. just thinking out loud :).

I agree

Yeah I was looking for it and couldn't find. Bothers a little bit that I can't just go to about info and see the patch info. Helps to check if the phone if up to date on security patches. Hopefully they fix this in future update.

Seems somewhat shady. Why not just show the patch level? Are they going to start saying that a phone is update when it really isn't? Maybe it was an oversight when designing the software. Could be updated with an update. Time will tell.

Do we expect them to slow down the updates (asking about the unlocked). Didn't we just get the May update?

I do not like that it's missing. It feels as if they don't want it visible as to not alarm the customer when they fall behind.

what's wierd though on my at&t phone M9 dose not show. E the date of when it was last updated.

Maybe it's a US model issue. Still interesting that it's not showing up. I also find it interesting that the security update is for March and the phone was released in May.

Most users ( I'm assuming ) don't ever go that deep into the settings so I wouldn't expect an uprising. As for me I am not concerned. Should I be?

Especially in the even a rapid fire security patch needs to be applied for a huge hole. Seems to be a sketchy operation by HTC...thats not very impressive. Especially overtones from above that seem to indicate it very much was intentional.
