So I dropped my phone in the toilet but only for 3 seconds. I dried it off best I could. Everything was working except screen auto rotation. Then as I was driving to work, it lost service because it couldn't read the sim card. So took the sim card out and restarted the phone, it hung on the HTC screen, then rebooted but the screen didn't turn on. It keeps trying every 10 seconds. I know it's restarting because it vibrates and nothing ever shows up on the screen. It's been going on for an hour now. Soft reset unresponsive.

Its the Sprint version so no uh-oh protection?

Any suggestions?

How long did you let it dry? Sounds like not long enough or it's just totally ****ed

Does it really matter? Long story short, I was using it while on the toilet, hand slipped. It's stuck in a boot loop now.

I'm trying to not think of your phone falling in a pile of poo but that's all that comes to mind lol

Anyway, u need to let it dry to see if it is damaged or not... If so send it in for your replacement

The water tests I've seen on YouTube all shows it survives but becomes unusable until it completely dries

Just an update in case it might be helpful to someone. While my HTC 10 was out of commission, I reactivated my old HTC m7. So after sitting in a bag of silica and rice for 3 days, it still was stuck in a boot loop. I took it to ubreakifix which after messing with it for 1 week, took it apart and removed corrosion, was able to boot up. However, the top half of the screen no longer responds to touch due to corrosion. Since they weren't able to fix it completely, they didn't charge. Also HTC uh oh protection is only valid if you bought it from HTC.com. I then did an upgrade on my other line and ordered a new one for $250.00 online at Sprint. Then I took my water damaged phone to a Sprint store for a buy back, which they gave me $300 for, even after I explained the damage. Apparently they don't care as long as the screen isn't broken and it powers up. If it didn't power up, they would've gave me only $75 so ubreakifix saved me there. Before I sold it, I did a wipe of the phone via Google devices online. So now I'm waiting for the replacement to arrive tonight. Seems like a win to me and I made $50. Don't believe in the water test! This phone isn't even remotely water resistant.

I can't say that it... Mine has fallen into the sink while I was washing my face and I let it dry out overnight (I went to sleep, lol) and I haven't had 1 issue with it...
