I've noticed that if I skip to the next song the volume comes back to normal.

Just uninstal updates via google play, then connect phone in car and let it update.

I have also found that you need to turn off Power saver and turn Android Auto & Maps to NOT optimized to get GPS tracking working properly.

I just bought a 2017 Honda Accord EX and using a Verizon HTC 10 running 7.0 and software 2.41.605.36. It just updated to that version and had issue with previous. When I first connect the USB cable to the phone, android auto will launch and show on my 2nd screen. If I try to do anything from the phone, it will go to device not connected. Apple car play worked fine from my brothers phone and GF Samsung S8 had no issues with using apps on the phone while connected and still show device connected. It is a song and dance once it shows device disconnect on the accord 2nd screen for it to re-connect. Any suggestions on what I can do. I afraid to get with Honda......

Did you ever figure this out? I have a 2017 CRV with the exact same problem. Same phone, same disconnect symptom. I have jumped through many hoops, only to find myself on a dead end road.
