I am so confused on which phone to get, I just switched from Verizon to T-mobile (dont tell me I shouldnt have switched, I like T-mo) so I can get ANY phone since im not currently under contract and I dont usually like to be under contract either...and those are the three phones im interested in. I have never had a windows phone so idk much about them. I have a Nexus 7 and its my first android device and I love it. I have had iPhones forever and now im looking for something different to try out cuz I wasnt impressed with the iPhone 5. SO my question is, which one would be a good phone to get for T-mobiles service.

I am in university and I have a lot of applications for school on my iPhone and I hope to get similar applications to save my notes, recordings, schedules and all that good stuff. I like to watch Netflix on my phone and play games, Basically I know android is awesome, but I have never had an android or windows phone. Pros or Cons to each phone...and any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!

I say get the nexus 4 because it's the fastest smartphone right now, very similar as an experience to the nexus 7 that you already love, is unlocked and cheap. With the S3 you wouldn't get android updates nearly as fast as the nexus devices. I doubt the S3 will be getting the latest android (4.2) anytime soon if ever. Windows phone is nice but android is more established.

Samsung said the s3 will get support for 2 years so that means till 2014

There's a difference between what Samsung says and what happens :). The only folks who I'd trust re: updates are Google and their directly supported Nexus line, because they've backed themselves up 100%.

I say nexus 4 if your ok with no SD slot and removable battery but seeing how you came from an iPhone that shouldn't bother you and 350$ for the unlocked version with 16gb of memory built in that's a good deal

I agree lol I'm just throwing that out there because I read an article about it but I still say he should go with the nexus 4

Yup, that's why they needed 2 gigs of ram--the software the GS3 uses is so taxing on the resources it needs all of that, particularly if they are contemplating future updates.

The Nexus 4 on the other hand probably needs a quarter of that; the 2 gig thing is simply showing off the horsepower :p

Choose one:

Android
WP

If you chose Android, go to page 32
If you chose WP, go to page 40

pg. 32 - If SD, LTE and a removable battery are important to you get a GS3, if Google's latest and greatest is your cup of tea get the N4.

pg. 40 - there is no pg. 40.

LOL well done!

I don't care much for removable battery or lack of SD card since I'm coming from iPhone like blaze said I never ran out of space on my 16gb iPhone. I would like to get updates first and fast and I guess since I'm already comfy with nexus 7 I should be set with nexus 4 cuz everything else should just go back and forth and sync between devices. Alright I'm sold on the nexus. I guess the HTC didn't really stand a chance. Lol now the thing is. Wait till December when its holiday season to get a good bargain on it maybe? Or just wait until its ready to be shipped. I didn't really have such a good experience with Google shipping my nexus 7 and I'm a bit hesitant to buy from the online store again.

Yea the nexus is the way to go I had the galaxy nexus and loved it but I lost so I'm using a dummy phone the nexus 4 will give you updates Atleast until 2014 and its cheap already at 350 imo I say if don't mind waiting wait till December because I'm pretty sure it might go down

I'd say nexus 4. It actually looks like a really nice phone with an awesome design. Now the 8x looks very good too, but wp8 just isn't my style. I feel that it would get boring after looking at the same ui over and over again. At least with android 4.2 there are some ui changes and some awesome new features.

I guess ill just hold off till December then. I'm using a Nokia right now, one from the old days with three letters on each key lol. Texting is a pain, but I will just suck it up and wait for the good stuff. OR I could get the Galaxy S2 since its free with 2 year contract, sell that one and get money towards getting the Nexus 4...hmm decisions decisions.

Yeah, pretty much comes down to what's more important for you:

Nexus 4 - No LTE, No MicroSD, No exchangeable battery
S3 - Has a contract, lesser specs, slower updates

Personally I do 95% of my surfing when I have wifi so LTE is just a batter drain IMO, don't want to carry a backup battery anyway, and don't need the extra storage space so the decision is easy for me. Gotta decide if you want to make those sacrifices though.

I would get the Nexus 4. LTE's not in my area (and it probably won't be coming any time soon), so it's not something I'm crazy about. Storage? Dropbox and Skydrive ftw. Nonremovable battery? Iffy, but I could live without.

Of course, this is all my opinion. But I would recommend the Nexus 4 if SD card slot, removable battery, and/or LTE isn't a concern to you. :D

The 8X is the prettiest phone I've ever seen. I will personally get this device just because of what it offers for the price. I
