How do I run the HTC Apps? When I click on it, it says unable to run the application.

there is an icon that just says HTC apps. I am using Verizon

I think that is some under the hood HTC stuff, similar to Google Play Services. It is not an app itself, but probably a mechanism to allow HTC to update some stuff outside of the carriers. Hide it in your launcher, or otherwise ignore it I believe.
