I was visiting with my sister about a week ago and she told me about a HTC Desire 510 phone she really liked but could no longer boot. She lent it to her spouse's daughter and it somehow failed to boot. (Daughter was apparently downloading SnapChat, then it shut itself down and failed to boot since.) Holding volume down during boot gets me to the boot menu, but attempting to factory reset it just results in another hang up at the HTC boot screen. And attempting to go into recovery mode brings up an image of a smart phone with a red triangle and exclamation point.
It's been a few months now, but I believe the phone is still under warranty. However, they want to charge my sister shipping to get a new device and she currently can't afford it. I told her I would try to fiddle with it and see if I can figure anything out. I need some help, though. Can anyone offer me some assistance? Boost Mobile is the carrier if that helps.
