HTC Desire Wifi Tethering possible

Hi guys,

Just got my HTC desire. Is Wifi Tethering possible for this device?

There's at least one app in the store that will allow you to tether, but it's costs. If you root your phone then you can do it for free.

Edit: What carrier are you using the Desire on?

I am on Mobile One. Are we able to root the HTC desire?

Would it remove off the Sense UI and disallow future upgrades of OS? Sorry cause I am very new to this OS. lol

Tethering is OFFICIAL POSSIBLE in Android 2.2
