HTC EVO 3D w/ SMR? PTT

Hello everyone, i just got done reading the post that compare the htc evo 3d vs the motorola photon and i have a few questions about the SMR that sprint is roumred to be rolling out.
1. I have to have PTT for my job but hate the slow motorola i1 ): sucks but i deal with it, is there a posiblily that if the evo 3d has the capabilitiys to use PTT could it communicate with older iden style phones with or with out using the PTT app?
2. has there been roumers of new phones coming out that has PTT and atleast 3g in it for downloads, the iden is not doing to i1 justice.

They are converting over the network foc cdma so I think iden/nextel is on its way out
