HTC Evo 4g design accidently deleted contacts app and phone app

My brother updated the software/hardware/operating system to cyanogenmod i dont know what version of my HTC Evo 4g phone with FreedomPop and in the process he accidently deleted my contacts app and phone app. i am not able to add new contacts and when i downloaded a contacts app off of google play it said it could not find the app to add new contacts please help me! thank you

You should be able to boot back into the custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) and reflash (install) the custom ROM " Cyanogen " again. In the process it will replace the missing two apps.

There are other ways of doing it too but that is probably the easiest and most reliable way to fix it at this point..
