Similar to the link above, I am in desperate need of answer as I fear I am being hacked somehow someway.
Basically, I have had different android phones with 2 different carriers and several emails and new computers and routers. I am telling you this so we can eliminate the whole get a new phone or type of technology then troubleshoot answer.
When I sync my contacts to google on my HTC EVO 4g LTE device, everything appears to pair correctly and then I check online to verify my contacts have been uploaded and synced. Fine, cool. I also use the option to sync my facebook to existing contacts in my list onto my phone (where the contacts are using gmail). I have had a strange issue that is quite frustrating as I don't know why no one can solve it or fix it but this is what happens to my phone. I will add John Smith in my contact list syncing to gmail with the number 555-123-1234. Maybe 5 minutes to hours later when I check or try to text or even call John Smith, the number online and on my synced device becomes John Smith 555-123-1235 or recently 555-223-1234. Somehow, somewhere, a bug or hack is developed and no answers are helping. I have reset the phone, had a plethora amount of phones and they all happen to each one of them. I feel as if my identity has been revealed somehow in the dimensional cyber world.
I have contacted both my carriers when I was with Verizon and currently with Sprint. All they state is to change passwords, delete current account, new phone, something at home, virus on computer, blah, I HAVE DONE ALL THAT ISH!!! Another weird issue I was having was a block list on both Verizon and Sprint's website. When you login the account, you have the option to block 5-10 people of your choosing. Random contacts in my phone would be on this list and people would tell me they text me or called and it got an error message stating blocked of some sort. It was so bad that I couldn't call my girlfriend, work, or even 911!! Wtf?! I haven't had this issue lately but the changing contacts is on my last nerve. I tried to troubleshoot by using a basic phone since older phones have no syncing capabilities but the online numbers still change, even after manually changing them on google.
Virus wise, I felt it was a rootkit or trojan or spyware or keylogger somewhere but I have purchased 5 different machines and log on to websites in different locations and the same bull happens.
PLEASE I BEG SOMEONE TO HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE!!!!! It is a pain and hassle to keep up with numbers and once they change on me somehow, the number text back saying who is this and I have to sit here and apologize for my SMART(dumb) phone being stupid. I can provide more insight but I know at least someone else has had this issue occur to them.
Contacts syncing from android device to google with the exception of synced facebook contacts; numbers change automatically like someone steals my device to change one number to trick me. Surprisingly it is just females in the phone that the numbers get changed but I can assure you no one can guess my passwords as they are hardened, God can't guess them. I am thinking if it is a bug then FIX it or it is a program somewhere that is conflicting with another that prevents the proper sync. Android is with google so thats why i havent tried any other syncing app. Guess we got to go back to the old days of saving them to the PHONE instead of GOOGLE and take the phone to store to have numbers switched from phone to phone.
