HTC Evo and Google Calendar syncs

I've got multiple google calendars, and the ones that I've created in my google account show up, along with their events. I am also able to add events to any of those calendars via my phone. The issue I'm having is with the "Other calendars" on my google account; when I go to my calendar settings, I can see the "other calendar" name just fine, but when I try to add an event to it via my phone, it doesn't work...the calendar is not given to me as a choice... ALSO, if I add an event to this "other calendar" using my google account via the computer, it doesn't sync to show up on my phone calendar. Is there a way to fix these problems?
