I have option of switching for work from DINC to the HTC EVo with 4G- I do realize I am switching carriers so for starters does anyone think this is an issue? Also, is it worth getting 4G? What can I expect?

It's always worth being up to date with the latest and the greatest. The EVO 4G is an awesome phone. All carriers are now into 4G phones and so are their customers.

I believe the move is worth it - stay on top of your game.

Good luck on the decision you make.

I too am considering moving to Sprint but not for the EVO specifically. Sprints network has improved in my area ( Long Island, NY ) and they are much more affordable then Verizon. With the recent news about Verizon going from 30 day trials to 14 day trials among other revisions they plan on that screw the customer it is making my decision easier. But the one thing that kills me about Sprint is that they make you pay for 4g service if the phone you use is 4g compatible without actually having the 4g service available in your area.
I am waiting to see if Verizon does the same thing when there 4g service and phones come on line. If so then they definately lost a customer. But if I were you I would wait to see what happens. While Sprints service has improved, Verizon is still the best but for me its a savings of about $400 per year to go with Sprint and my kids get smartphones instead of the cheesey feature phones they have from Verizon.

I'd wait for the Moto Bionic or HTC Thunderbolt to be released on Verizon before making a decision.

I wouldn't compare the DInc and the EVO 4G.

I would say it all depends on if Sprint has good WiMax coverage at your work and home.

I had the same decision to make. I chose Dinc because of its size. I know most ppl want a huge screen but I still want my phone to be sleek. And I don't need the hdmi output. The evo is a great phone though so either way you'll be fine.

Do you want a mini-tablet or a phone? They're both, technically, the same phone except for the EVO's front facing camera and larger size. What it's going to boil down to is coverage in your area...

Is Verizon better or Sprint?

Is Sprint's 4G even available in your area? If you're mostly on WiFi, that won't make a difference, really...

The evo is bigger, has the ff camera and is 4G. If all of that works for you, choose the evo. If you do want the "latest and greatest" I would wait until MWC and examine the field. Neither of these phones will be the greatest come Mobile World Congress.

WiMax IMO is crap, I would much rather have LTE being that it has faster data speeds, better building penitration, better coverage, versatility of simcards, and LTE will be a global standard making it more of an international device. but between the dinc and evo, i like the size, coverage, and optical pad on the Dinc better then the evo.
