HTC Evo privacy breach lawsuit

I saw this. Its been posted. HTC is going to deal with it. One thing I don't worry about with HTC is the updates. I know they should have tested this but its ok. Its not worth freaking out about just yet.

If they take forever....Then we should be freaking out. WHY does EVERYTHING have to turn into a lawsuit these days? Its pretty stupid IMO...Its the real world. Technology is NOT perfect and never will be. We use these devices at our own risk. Now lets give HTC a chance to make up for this mistake. Without a lawsuit please.

THANK YOU!

Also thanks for letting us know MAMark! This post is in no way directed at you by the way.

There is now a lawsuit over the recently exposed privacy vulnerabilities in HTC EVO phones.

Sprint HTC Evo 4G Phone Privacy Lawsuit

Check out this article if you haven't heard about the vulnerabilities:

Massive Security Vulnerability In HTC Android Devices (EVO 3D, 4G, Thunderbolt, Others) Exposes Phone Numbers, GPS, SMS, Emails Addresses, Much More

I think MAMark34 is a partner at this linked law firm, trolling for business and cgardner is clearly a share holder at HTC.
Round 1, FIGHT!

The lawyers will win big time! Rather they win the lawsuit or not.

Also, while it is possible to compromise the data, there is no evidence that it was compromised. Which means there is a good chance that a lawsuit would have no merrit and be thrown out of the courts.

I'm sure htc sells to other markets than US. This is probably a selling point. Funny how the FCC tracks radio compliance, but no one tracks data privacy. This is a much bigger issue than HTC.
Just look at gripe. Apk to see the impact of your data.

While I agree. FCC could be better about data...Out phones directly connect to the internet. And we all know the internet is not private. Never has and never will be. So to think our data is ever going to be private is more than likely to never happen.

This is a non issue since no ones privacy has been compromised. A hacker/researcher/whatever he was showed that it could possibly be done, not that it was being done. Even if a lawsuit went through, and won, HTC phone owners would be lucky if they saw even $1.

I didn't know HTC collected that much info on us. I guess when an app shuts down and my phone wants me to send an error message to HTC, that maybe I shouldn't do it?
