A couple weeks after the software update while using dolphin HD browser at the Google main page trying to check a world cup score, My phone suddenly started to restart itself multiple times( it would get to boot and load the main screen and everything like normal and restart again) after a couple times like this, and it stopped doing it and was fine again. I did notice that I was at school at the time and I had no bars but had a connection. I decided to remove all new apps installed during the past week to see if that was the problem. I tried to use the Dolphin browser again and it was fine for 5 minutes of surfing and it restarted again( same signal strength as before). I got home again download the update from sprint and saw that there was also a new security update. I started to use opera instead of Dolphin, I thought that would solve the problem. I used my phone for about 4 days without problems after the hard reset with only basic apps from the market and yesterday while trying to reply to a text message using hand cent i got a connection error because I was in the subway. when I got 1 bar back I tried to resend the text and the phone started to restart again multiple times until it just stops and work again ( usually when I get good signal I guess, my friend did get the text even though the phone was chocking lol) What sucks is the multiple restarts kills the battery. Today the phone is working 100% and I cannot replicate the event, weird or what? any one have a similar problem?

define restart, sense reloads? or the whole reboot with the sprint splash screen?

if its just the dsktop that reboots, go to settings>applications>manage>htc sense> clear cache.

this should reload sense (unfiortunateley it will set the desktop back to default) and clear out any garbage...

bad widgets sometimes force close sense...

system restart like in htc boot splash, sprint splash, loading config, acquiring signal, oooops boot again, the whole nine yards. that happens around 5 times than the phone is back up in.

I have the same problem, mine will reboot to HTC/Sprint splash screen multiple times a day especially when I wake it from sleeping after a while, others are just at random times(during calls, texts, or whenever it feels like it). I have to constantly wake the phone to make sure it is on just so I don;t miss any calls or important emails.

I guess I will root but now that I have the 2.1 update from sprint not sure how, well lets be honest I wasn't sure how when I had 1.5 let alone now with 2.1 :)

Yeah i tried that already, I think I said that on my first post. After 4 days it started to happen again even with the .6 update of the 2.1 Android software.

After the 4 days you said you had just basic app from market, would any of those happen to be a task killer?

Advanced task killer

I would say try running without the task killer for a few days and see if it happens.I know task killers are nice but the internal memory manager should do its job and kill tasks when it needs to.It won't kill the apps/task right away but it will over time.Just trying to be helpful, give it a try the worse that could happen either it helps or rules out task killer being the problem. Also if you try without the task killer try pressing back or menu exit on apps while not using task killer to close apps. Some apps have exit some don't.

I will have to try rooting tomorrow, work calls. For what it is worth the apps that I loaded after loading 2.1 (.6) are:

Bank of America
Craigsphone
OI Shopping
aCar
Bubble Defense (free)
Robo Defense (paid)
Movies
Photoshop
PicSay

All others are the normal preinstalled apps or widgets. Any known issues with the above?

Thanks

No issues that i know of with any of those.Ill look around to see tho.

I will try I will post back if anything happens, right now the phone its fine lol.

I know how that goes and if it did act up all day an you took it to get serviced it wouldn't do it.Ive been there hope things get worked out, keep us posted.thanks.

I noticed that I cannot access settings->applications->Manage applications. Every time I try I get a "force close" no matter how many times I try. I made the mistake of trying to restart the phone and now it its doing its multiple boot cycles. Here is a list of apps I have installed:

Locale + extensions
Antivirus
spare parts
Hand cent
Opera
ATK ( will uninstall it as soon as I can)
facebook
pandora

and more but the ones above are the ones I actually use.

Ouch i said your phone does not like the update at all.I think hand cent had problems awhile back not sure if its been fixed yet or not. As for antivirus you really don't need it, You have to grant permissions to let a app access any of your files about the only other way is if you let some person that really knows what there doing play with your phone.I use pandora, opera so they should be okay.
