Can I be able to use a SIM card from AT&T or T-Mobile in my Hero S??? I've seen YouTube vids explaining how to do this but I'm not too sure...thanks

Do u think it would be possible? I noticed there is an option under networks to change it to GSM mode...I know It's a world phone but I'm thinking maybe, thru the unlocking method, it just might work

You need a code from us cellular, tell them you are planning a vacation somewhere or some story. They will need a code from under your battery ( or dial some number I do not remember it, just look up how to unlock it and you will find more info) It's really just a modified gsm phone to work on cdma. So It's the same unlock procedure as a gsm. The only reason It's locked is so most people can't do what you are wanting to do.

Yes you will need it, call 611 give them your story for needing the carrier unlock code and be persistent about it and ask for directions. There is some unlocking services online but I have never used them. I once unlocked a phone and It's simple you just need the unique code and proper directions to unlock. It is your phone don't take no for a answer. If you get your code be careful to unlock it properly because the phone I unlocked (samsung) if you messed up 3 times It's permanenly locked.

Josh,
Can the hero s be flashed or rooted to allow it to accept a Tmobile SIM card? I know you have yours rooted but my phone is just a mini "tablet" now and I would rather keep it than sell it.
