Htc hero wont download messages sent to me

When I receive a picture mail . The phone says unsucessfull can anyone help

When ever I get a message sent to me on my htc hero, I click on download and it says unsuccessful ? Not sure if I screwed with something in the settings or what. Can anyone help?

is your phone connected to the network at the time of downloading?

this happens to me sometimes when i'm not connected to the network. for some reason my phone periodically stops connecting (annoying). I'm not connected even though my mobile widget says I am...
(but i know i'm not because the 1g/EV is not on the task bar) at this point the mobile widget is also frozen and won't let me disconnect/re-connect.

To fix: I re-set/ reconnect by holding power button until the drop down menu appears then I disconnect the network, then reconnect and 99% of the time that fixes it and I'm able to download my messages, go to the market or whatever...

this might not be your issue, but it was for me...

This has become a real problem...my messages wont download either. I tried the disconnect/reconnect from network trick,it was unsuccessful. Does anyone have a permanent solution?
