htc incredible2 cell

[AC Question]

i have purchased a used htc that has been flashed to straight talk.it was a verizon phone. i have wifi here but my phone keeps saying it is searching for service.i do not understand i thought if i had internet it would work. is there setting i need to change? this is my first phone with internet services so i am clueless on what to do.

Another instance, just possibly, where removing and replacing the battery might do the trick.
