I have an ATT HTC Inspire 4G phone, I looked at my phone yesterday morning, I had a System Update. I downloaded, and I saw sutle differences that showed it had changed, but then I noticed about ever 10 seconds after being in anything on my phone, (messages, internet, gallery, anything) it had a message pop up saying, "android.process.acore has stopped unexprectedly. An error report will be sent to HTC. Please try again." I went to ATT they said, its a syncing problem that is probably being caused because HTC is doing something with their HTC system linked to the automatic syncing and updating. My phone is almost unusable because it exits me out of everything when I have to click the "Force Closxe" button that comes up with that message from above. WHAT the heck do I do to fix this? I can barely use my phone... My phone information says:

Android Version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense Version: 2.1

Can someone help me?

Have you tried rebooting? If that doesn't help you may have to do the dreaded factory reset.

And if the factory reset does not work download and run the RUU off the HTC website.

I have shut it off, took the battery out... I've tried to shut form all my syncing relating thing on my phone... ATT local store guy pulled the battery out.. girl next to me bought a new pho:confused:ne and her immediately started doing it too... I'm trying to wait it out, no idea how to back up all my stuff!

Thanks for the help, I'm lost... Day 3 of my phone being barely usable... It's at its worat when trying ro call, can't dial more than two numbers before it exits me out. Second would be In texting. It's horribally annoying

Not sure what is going on here but I have been running GB since the leaked RUU came out with few issues. Backup what? If you following in Android form your contacts, calendar and email are all in Sync with Google servers. All your apps come from the Marketplace. All other files should have been downloaded to your SD card and will not be touched by any OTA or RUU upgrade unless you see some option to format the SD card. That means even if you do a factory reset or update via the RUU you will loose nothing (except sideloaded apps). After the device recovers from either, you will follow the prompts to sign into your Google account. Once you do that everything will restore from Google servers and yes this includes all your apps from the Marketplace.

The process basically formats phone from any previous OS install. Then installs the OS complied from executable. Going back and forth between should not be an issue.

Are you saying that by just running a Froyo RUU using the manual install process will downgrade the OS? Even on a non-rooted phone? Because I asked in a different thread if that was possible and others said that would not work.
