Well, hopefully, HTC has an update by September. Otherwise, I will be installing the best STABLE Jellybean ROM available... As long at it works with the camera.

Yeah, the big stuff is the expandable notifications, google now, and project butter I.e. smooth and totally lag free everywhere. (Tried it out already on a friend's Gnexus)

They also added a siri or s voice type thing to 4.1 (personal I've used and yes it is badass)

The problem they all have to add their "look" to the phone, it should be android pure just goes right to the phone. I bought the phone for the hardware not htc sense. Coming from samsung, I find it annoying and clunky, also it pisses me off to have to learn a new way of doing everything when I switch a phone. If I bought any windows pc, I know exactly what to do.

But that's exactly why the windows phone fails at enticing partners to make the phone...the experience is the same across all devices.. so all the OEMs can do is differentiate by hardware....which forces them into a place where they're making the most high end phones...but forced to keep them at the lowest possible price point to keep it actually selling. Its like working on bid....deliver the most for less money than everyone else...which is great for consumers.. but what a nightmare if you were trying to make money on the device itself.

Jellybean is essentially ICS with a few additional features and added smoothness. HTC has already built their "look" for ICS, and all they really need to do to bump up to 4.1 is update the code to add in those features. I mean google now is a pretty standard design that I doubt HTC will mess with. The notifications are notifications, it would make no sense for HTC to alter those. Project butter should just make everything run more smoothly. And, since HTC included the ICS button set-up of back/home/multitask, then they can even include the "swipe up from home" functionality that google implemented for google-now.

Hopefully HTC will not do anything drastic, because it seems like they already have everything they need to make this a quick and successful update!

Hopefully HTC uses the default multitasking and drops their horrible implementation. I also like that JB has the voice search built into the OS so no data connection required to use it. I'm also interested in seeing how well Google Now adapts info to me speifically.
