htc m8 doesn't charge except with its original cable?

hello guys

sorry the post is long, but i tried to cover many details as possible so you can identify the problem and help me

a few days ago, ive factory resetted my m8, everything was fine, after 3 days i slept with the phone at 24% charge, i woke up and found it turned off, when i charged it i noticed the first glitch, the screen stayed on while charging( i havent activated developer mode neither the stay awake option within) , later on the phone screen was rotating even though the auto rotation was off, later on also, it always gets on car mode.

when i got home and tried to charge it again, it charged for few seconds then stopped charging at all.

i generally use anker charger with its 2 meters cable, it didnt work, i used a power bank didnt work either, i didnt have the original charger cause my friend borrowed it to travel.

ive got the phone to be serviced, cause i thought its charging dock was faulty, but they gave it back 2 days later and said there was nothing with it, and they showed me its charging, when i got my charger back, it seems the phone doesnt charge unless its by original cable.

sorry it was a long post..

my questions:

1) what was the cause of these glitches.
2) how can i get it to work with other cables and chargers.

Have you confirmed that the other cables are good? The quality of generic USB cables these days is horrendous. I've had new ones ordered from China not work from day one. Others are intermittent or dead within a few weeks. Plug it in and if moving the cord around causes it to start charging again, then stop, you have a bad cable or cable terminal. Sometimes, bad cables will work with one phone but not others.
