If I was going to get something bigger I'd nab a note 3.

No way for 3 reasons:

1) It's way too big (see size comparison w/ Samsung Galaxy Note 3). I, personally think the One is pushing it in terms of size but I like the phone so much I made an exception. I just can't go any bigger.
2) It was rumored to have a Snap Dragon 800 processor, however benchmark test results have revealed there is really a 600 under the hood. That doesn't cut it for me for a high-end smart phone being released in the second-half of 2013.
3) The fingerprint scanner on the back of the One Max under the camera looks goofy and if the phone in that pic is accurate the fit 'n finish leaves a lot to be desired (why HTC decided to put the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone is beyond me anyway???).

However, even if #2 & #3 were not issues it's still WAY too big of a phone for me but to each his own ;)

My Fujitsu Android phone has the fingerprint scanner on the back, and it's a great location for it! While holding the phone (albeit only 4.3 inches, but I can imagine it'd be the same on the One Max), it's easy to click the fingerprint sensor to turn the screen on or off and immediately slide the finger on it for unlocking. Also, the Fujitsu software includes a way to lock apps so that the fingerprint needs to be read before launching the app, or even hiding some contacts/emails behind a fingerprint lock. So having it at the back makes it convenient and quick to access, can't imagine having it on the front/home button like the iPhone 5s.

I guess on the iPhone 5s it'd make more sense to use the thumbs, while on the Fujitsu Arrows and HTC One Max it makes more sense to use the index fingers...

I have the Note 2 and it's my first Samsung phone since 2004. All of my HTC phones have been great, my only real knock on Samsung is the reception issues. My girl has the S3 and the reception is worse than my Note. I'm hoping the specs check out for the Max because I want to switch back to HTC.

Hi,

There are many confronted opinions about what is the right size for a smart phone? Nowadays, the bodies are getting bigger and bigger...

Ahead from the personal perceptions I would like to get an idea about what is the size parameters for phablets, I mean, the size boundaries of this type of device

I would like to establish something like this:

  • Smartphones: from 4" to 5.5"
  • Phablets: from 5.6" to 6.3"
  • Tablets: from 6.5" to 10"

Maybe you guys can help me with your opinion...

Thanks in advance

Anything over 5" is a phablet imo

No, it's basically pointless! It has the exact same specs as the regular htc one, but just a bigger display.
