I den think about get the Merge but all the Rumored (aaaaa) then the Droid 2 Global. it look like a good phone and it out now but to holding out or not mmmm
I am so confused. Is the Merge delayed or not Merge delayed :(

Haha. It depend really. I take it you are going with verizon.

Are you looking for a keyboard? What about 4g?

If your an android nerd I would probably get the merge. Id actually get the merge eithr way because I think it was delayed for 4g. And its made by htc and resembles the g2 so id imagine easy root if your into that.

So I guess it comes down to keyboard or no keyboard. If you don't need one I'd probably wait for the nexus s to hit verizon because the nexus one was the phone I originally wanted but I vould not get money together until I thought it was outdated. Basically I'm saying if you wait to get a phone at launch you'll be more excited. I know I was when I got my epic.

All Android devices are easy to root, usually with just the push of a button. So that's a moot point. Basically get a D2 Global if you want a nice phone now. Wait for the Merge for the possibility of LTE.

If I were to offer more specific advice, I say wait 2 or 3 weeks to see if this Incredible HD hits the shelves anytime soon.

thanks, that gave me a loot to think about
I have a LG DARE now would like a good Android phone now lol. I give a #$%! about LTE. My are get in adout 200y (Taft, CA ). It wait and see fot now ;)

id wait for 4g. or switch to sprint and get 4g now.

thats what i did - well my contract was up and i wanted the epic. i live in orange county and spend a lot of time in LA so i get 4g for a nice portion of the week.
idk where taft is.

but rooting on the droids are terrible compared to the ease of the htc phones. i dont remember the extra step it takes to flash roms but its one that id rather not do

I said this in the D2 forum, but has anyone seen a D2 Global review or benchmark? I'd love to know if the keyboard is really improved and if the 1.2 really makes a difference.

I thought the D2G had the same keyboard as the D2. If that's true, there would be no improvement. And some have suggested and/or commented that the Merge has a better keyboard than the D2.

If you look at the D2G's description is says "improved keyboard" and it does look like they added some roundness to all the keys to supposedly make it better. The button size and placement is the same, but the buttons themselves have indeed been changed.

I know - that's why I'm drooling after the Merge - keyboard looks near perfect imo.

Hmm ... looks the same to me. One of the selling points for the D2 was the improved keyboard over the D1. Maybe that's been held over and what they're referring to 'cause I can't see any difference between the keyboards of the D2 and D2G.

I'm in the same boat. I'm waiting for the Merge to come out, but I've been hearing that it's being held back for LTE capabilities. If this is true, that means that I would have to pay the extra LTE fee, even if my area doesn't have LTE?
Just like Sprint and the Evo users who don't have 4G in their area?

I'm on the fence on whether to wait or not. One reason that I would want to upgrade now to the D2G is because of the BOGO offer, which one of my other lines is also up for an upgrade. I guess I do have 30 days with the D2G and wait to see if the Merge is released by then. Anyone have any suggestions?

i've been sitting on upgrades for my 2 lines since March of this year. Now I've been ready to buy for the last 2 months and this damn merge isn't out yet! these BOGO offers are quite appealing but i keep tryinig to hold out. my wifes phone is practically dead so i don't know how much longer i can wait. for those in the know, what would make the merge better than the droid 2? I need to some ammo to procrastinate some more.

Mainly what I'm going on (and I have no personal experience with this) is that many people prefer HTC's Sense over Moto's Blur, and the reviews much prefer the Merge's keyboard over the D2's. Also, when compared to the D2, the Merge processor is better. I don't recall seeing much as compared to the D2 Global.

If yu are looking for an atually good keyboard go with the merge im sure that it wont be delayed for that much more long if u want a phone with an ugly UI go with D2G

I just returned my D2G and will wait for any HTC device w/ GSM and CDMA. The D2G Exchange server sync app blows; email delays up to an hour. Even the Gmail app got wonky towards the end. Please, HTC, puh-leeeeze release the Merge.
