HTC offering a9 for $299

That's honestly probably what it should have cost from the get-go.

I think $499 was too high, but I picked it up for the pre-order price of $399,which I think was about right day 1. $299 for this phone today is getting a quality phone at a good price. What price did you get this phone for Mstrblueskys?

I didn't get it. I've been a part of Elevate for forever, I've had the 3 HTC One Flagships, and the Evos before it. I've had a handful of desires. I love HTC's manufacturing, design, and Android Skin, and I couldn't figure out why I would want the phone at that price.

Understand, I've been a long time HTCian since the HTC Evo 4G. I keep hoping HTC will turn things around but I'm nervous about it.

I bought one at $299. Replacing my M9 that seems to get hot even when I'm not doing much. I think that the heat causes the CPU to throttle and the battery to run down faster because it sure doesn't seem to last long any longer. That's just my guess..

Anyway I don't play games, so the 617 processor has been great. Cool running, nice bright clear screen (I think it's much brighter then the M9) and snappy performance. Battery is acceptable because I have a couple opportunity to charge if need to. Today it went from 60%-95% in 35 minutes on a QuickCharge 2 car charger. It's also substantially thinner and lighter then the M9 its replacing.

All in all, at $299, I think it was a very good deal.

You sound a lot like me in the way of usage. I completely agree with you on this phone.
