HTC ONE 64GB Availability?

I live in Canada and many of our cell phone providers have listed that they will be receiving the one. The odd thing is, all the information I find from Rogers/Fido/Telus/Bell states that they will be getting the 32GB model. Is Canada not getting the 64 GB model? If not then what could possibly be the reason for it?

I've already contacted the support and been to a Roger store (my current provider) on this matter and they seem to know absolutely nothing about the availability and in fact didn't even have the 32GB model in their systems yet.

I'm planning on using this phone for a fairly long period of time and using it for a lot of media so with the lack of an SD card slot I'd like to get as much storage as possible right at the start.

Any information you guys have would be great.

I don't recall where or why but I definitely recall hearing some markets will only be receiving the 32gb model. I'll try to find the articles if I can.

I could live with 32GB and will if I have to, the One looks like an amazing piece of hardware. I'd like to future proof it as much as possible though. I wonder why some areas are getting the 64GB model while others aren't? Production capacity maybe? Maybe they are trying to get more 32GB models off the shelf initially before introducing the 64GB models to more markets. Either way it is very annoying.

Great news guys, I just read that they're only producing 20-30% of the cameras they should be, that means major supply shortages.... I'll be up at the crack of dawn to get it.

All over......I read it on android authority and droid life.....I'm taking it with a grain of salt personally. The whole rumor is that other countries MAY be delayed so we can have enough.....so no worries IMHO.

hmmm Yea, just read an article on it. It may be true, may not be. I'm not going to bother reserving a device but I'll be sure to pick one up as soon as their available just in case.

I also want the 64 gb version, the more storage the better. I like to keep a few good Movies on my phone to watch during my lunch break or maybe somewhere there is just no signal. I have the SGS3 with 32 gb of int storage and a 64 gb sd card. I can get along without the sd card but I want to get as much interior storage as I can. Hoping the 64 gb versions are available for the USA Carriers.

Rogers said tonight that they have no intentions of having the 64GB HTC One. Now I am looking at the SGS4. Or wait until May to see what else they come up with. But I don think I can live with a physical home button.

Wow, that is really disappointing. I wish Carriers and HTC were more transparent about the decision process when it comes to what phones are going where. Is this something on Rogers side where they only want to offer the one model or is it an issue with HTC not offering it to this market/having enough supply for the carriers here. Every review out there of course comes with the "It comes in 32 and 64 GB storage sizes" bit, but it would be nice if they added in "Depending on the market" in with that as well.

EDIT: do you have a source?

I think the 64gb version will be released after the 32gb...but ultimately it's the carrier's decision what they want to offer. I'm sure HTC is willing to sell them either or both.

Yea, but why on earth would a carrier choose not to sell a phone that's only difference is having more storage...

I agree, good question. Maybe it's stock keeping and inventory. Just think, they have to make space for all the 64GB in both colors. Not that it takes up alot of room, but if they don't sell many 64GB, there are so many other models that compete for that stocking space also. Just throwing an idea out there.
