I currently have an ATT One and is thinking of converting to a Google Play edition. If I root the the device after it is a GPE can I still run a sense rom when I wanted?

You can always flash whatever ROM you want, but if you're going to go GPE check out the Android Revolution HD GPE. I've been using and loving this ROM and you don't have to do a full conversion to run it.

I did a full conversion on my HTC One with bootloader unlocked ,S-OFF ,super cid, SuperSU, and TWRP on using this link How to Convert Any HTC One into a Stock Google Play Edition with Bootloader, Recovery, & OTA Updates ? HTC One softModder. All worked pretty good except for the root in the GPE . You have to use an updated SuperSU file here SuperSU Download . After you get all that then you get OTA's but I went back and flashed a custom rom and I still have S-Off and unlocked bootloader. Kit Kat I didn't like, too much battery drain and I didn't like the UI on it. After the conversion and rooting I still have a unlocked bootloader and super cid ,plus the 1.54 hboot. I also had to go with an updated TWRP.
