HTC One factory reset broke phone
Ok so i'm fixing a phone for a friend who bought it off a friend. Phone worked fine, was sold to my friend, he did a factory reset and now I have it. when the phone boots i get a Decrypt storage page, no matter what password i enter it says 'The password you entered is correct, but unfortunately your data is corrupt. To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset' but when i press the big RESET button at the top it restarts the phone. i can get into the recovery and bootloader. the recovery tells me that files are missing so it cannot perform a reset.
Is the correct course of action to flash the stock ROM if i can and hope for the best?
